Outdoor Rabbit Hutch Design
Rabbits are the great pets in all aspects. They are cute, lovable, easy to care, innocent and many other qualities that makes him the best pet. Rabbits are very adaptive in nature so no matter whether you keep them inside or outside they adjust themselves accordingly. If you are keeping them indoor then it is of but if you are keeping them outside then you need to have an outdoor hutch or cage for your bunny. You can easily make a good hutch for your rabbit by yourself or can also buy it from the store or from internet.
There are many dangers associated with your rabbits if you are keeping it outside. Rabbits don’t have the only fear from its predators like snakes, dogs, foxes or domestic cats but he may also die of heart attack on being frightened terribly from his predators. Keeping that in mind if you still want to keep your rabbit outside, then you really need a good and strong outdoor rabbit hatch which can protect your bunny not only from the predators but from the foul weather as well.
Now the most important thing that you should keep in mind about the outdoor rabbit hutch is its size which should be at least 3 to 4 times the size of the rabbit when the rabbit is fully stretched. It is because it will then help you to fit a litter box easily. About the height of the hutch it should be as high as your bunny can stand his full height comfortably. According to the general guideline if your bunny is less than 8 pounds then the rabbit hutch should be 24``x 36`` and if it is heavier than that the size would be 30``x 36``. You can also attach or built run into the hutch, so that your bunny can play and hoop freely and comfortably. Always try to give your bunny a bigger hutch because big is always better.
You can buy or create the outdoor rabbit hutch either of wood or of wires. Wired hutch is easy to create, maintain and keep clean but your rabbit’s legs might get hurt or injured from the wired floor. So, keep a wood sheet or matte all along the floor to protect your bunny’s feet. Make proper arrangements for its ventilation and aeration and also make proper arrangements for summer and winter seasons. Always behave humanely to the rabbits and give them as much comfort as you can.
